The Portuguese for Foreigners course is designed for anyone who wants to communicate effectively in Portugal, whether for living, studying or working. The approach is practical, functional and focused on real-life situations, allowing students to quickly gain linguistic autonomy.
More than learning rules, students learn how to use the language in concrete contexts: services, work, healthcare, school, social life and everyday situations. The course can be taken in group or individual format, in person or online, and is always adapted to the learner’s level and personal goals.

Who it is for: Foreigners who want to learn Portuguese in order to integrate into life in Portugal, communicate with confidence and gain independence in everyday situations.

Main objectives:
- Communicate in real-life everyday situations
- Facilitate social and professional integration in Portugal
- Develop basic skills in reading, writing and comprehension

Includes an initial level assessment to place each student in the most appropriate group.

Program and Structure
The program is organized by levels and designed to deliver practical results from the very first classes.
What is covered:
- Functional communication: shopping, services, transport, healthcare, work
- Speaking & Listening: real-life scenarios and practical simulations
- Grammar: essential rules applied to daily use
- Vocabulary: useful and contextualized language
- Culture: habits, expressions and social norms
How it is organized:
- Level-based structure with clear progression
- Practical, communication-oriented methodology
- Dynamic and participative classes
- Continuous assessment and feedback
- Content adapted to each learner’s needs
How the classes work
- Schedule: classes are arranged with the teacher, according to the learner's availability.
- Recommended pace: at least 2 sessions per week, of 1.5 to 2 hours, for steady progress from level to level.
- In person or online: online classes are live, by video conference (Zoom), and the material for each class is available on our Moodle platform.
- Placement: an initial assessment places each learner at the right level from the first class.
- Certification: the course can be geared towards the language requirements of Portuguese residency and nationality procedures. What the A1 to C2 levels mean.
Expected outcome: real ability to communicate in Portuguese and integrate autonomously into life in Portugal.
